WW2 U.S. NAVY Emergency convoy light blue. Polished and lacquered. Tastefully mounted on a wooden plinth. These blue convoy lights were used during passage to and from Europe in the Atlantic waters during WW2. The faint blue light could be seen by the ships on the surface but not by the enemy submarines. The sailors used these lights to closely follow each other in convoys during zig zag movements. With top hatch for bulb replacement.
